I saw a lady today with a shirt that said "I can't adult today." And while I understand the responsibilities of an adult can be difficult, BEING an adult is infinitely better than any other stage of your life. You have so many options. Sure, maybe you didn't take your education seriously or you're not world-class at something by now. But this is really when you have all the freedom to represent yourself exactly the way you want to. And you can learn how to be what you want instead of what you are.
Maybe you're just now finding out what you're passionate about, or maybe you want to mix marinara sauce with Kahlua and chug it down until you pass out on the kitchen floor of your apartment/house where it's nobodies goddamn business. It almost never is regardless.
You can tell people you love them and you might actually mean it this time. You can tell people you hate them and you might actually mean it this time. You can not give a fuck about anybody, and that's fine too. Your odds of knowing how you truly feel are better now than they ever have been.
You don't have to put up with shit you don't want to unless you're getting paid for it(or unless the government's fucking with you) . You can fly a plane, read a book, build a house, barricade yourself in your room and watch Its Always Sunny In Philadelphia until your eyes glaze over. Try building a bunker once the world really starts scaring you. Burn your social security card and run into the woods forever. You've got options is all I'm saying.
Being an adult is realizing you can finally call all your own shots, and that's way more than you can say about any other period of your life.
Responsibility in exchange for all this isn't that raw of a deal.
Embrace it.
